From restless to restful: Fiona’s experience

Fiona Faint

Say hi to Fiona, a 28-year-old from the UK who has faced long nights of restless sleep.

Health Concerns

Fiona has been battling "quite a bit of back and neck pain during the day" and describes herself as a "really light sleeper who struggles to get a good night's sleep most nights." This ongoing discomfort leaves her feeling tired, moody, and stressed throughout her day.

Eager for a change, Fiona decided to try a sleep posture pillow to see if it could break her cycle of pain and poor sleep.

Did It Make a Difference?

She found the new pillow to be "a game-changer. My back and neck pain has definitely improved, resulting in less pain while sleeping. This has allowed me better sleep most nights and helped me feel more refreshed during the day. It was a vicious cycle of pain leading to bad sleep and restlessness, which resulted in daytime tiredness—a cycle the pillow has really helped with."

A New Way to Sleep

Previously, she would toss and turn, frequently shifting between positions like The Heavy Lifter, The Applauder, and The Hedgehog - none of which helped her settle -"I’m quite restless before I manage to sleep, so I found myself changing positions frequently before finally falling asleep,"

Willing to make a change and optimise her sleep posture, Fiona adopted a new position - The Dreamer. "Now that I'm sleeping in The Dreamer position, I’ve noticed I’m not as restless while trying to fall asleep and I don't move around as much during the night."

The improvements

Fiona noted significant improvements across all aspects of her sleep. Here's a summary of her progress using the provided scale (0 = not applicable, 5 = a lot better):

  • Neck pain: 5
  • Shoulder pain: 5
  • Back pain: 5
  • Headaches: 5
  • Disturbed sleep: 5
  • Feeling on waking: 4
  • Sleep quality: 5

She added: "Ever since getting my pillow my partner always tries to steal it as he loves it just as much. I wouldn’t be able to go back to the pillows I used to use, which usually were ones that had big dips in the middle. Investing in a proper pillow has helped more than I thought it would"

"As I am not the best sleeper, I have never been able to have the quantity of sleep I have wanted/ felt like I needed. James has taught me that the quality of sleep is so much more important, and now my perception has changed it has helped me understand that even if I do only get 5 hours of sleep some nights, if it was a quality night’s sleep, I still wake up feeling like I have had a good night’s sleep."

By optimising her sleep posture—aka switching to 'The Dreamer'—and upgrading to a supportive pillow, Fiona is now experiencing less pain, which allows her to fall asleep faster and easier. This new sleep environment has effectively broken her cycle of sleepless nights.
